#PillowTalk is a freestyle column that occurs at the end of each month for the WiB blog, where we can respond to any comments for the blogs or our personal key takeaways for the month.
It has been a while since we last posted a PillowTalk. The last time we posted PillowTalk was in September 2020, which is already more than half a year ago! It's really interesting how fast time went by as we spent our time in quarantine, albeit how repetitive everyday seems.
By this time, all of us have been adapting to the new normal - wearing masks every day, attending zoom classes, and social distancing. I think quarantine life has different stages that one has to go through and after the "trough" stage near the end of the year, where we realize that this is probably going to carry on well onto 2022, I might have just binged bags of chips and chocolate.
But we are at the beginning of the year, and once again, the perfect time to add value to ourselves by picking up a new hobby. Something that I picked up is listening to podcasts while working in order to stay updated on the latest trends - check out our blog on Our Faves: Podcasts Worth Listening To
Speaking of new beginnings, we have additional editors on the team! Hence, we have been posting on a broader spectrum of topics twice a week (hope you've noticed). We are also launching new initiatives, such as IGTV, to reach a broader audience. In fact, we also talked about making our own podcasts, which is still in the brainstorming stage but something we would want to try! Check out our blog to meet the expanded team - Happy New Semester & Meet Our New Editors!
The last blog that I will recommend catching up on for this month is #RealTalk: Women at the Workplace- Expectations vs Reality. In the blog, we looked at the common misconceptions about women in the workplace and what the reality still looks like, whether it is on reaching for dream jobs or workplace harassment still present now. But we can also be part of the force to change the current status quo! Check out our blog #RealTalk: Women at the Workplace- Expectations vs Reality.
We hope that after reading this post, you are just as excited as we are to make 2021 a better year. Hopefully we'll see you soon, but in the meantime we wish you the best of luck with the semester!
