ABOUT US
HKUST Women in Business empowers women to become leaders of business
OBJECTIVE 1
To empower women to become leaders of business.
According to an article posted by HKUST, in 2020, the HKUST Business School has shown the greatest improvement in their gender balance with a 7% leap in female student intake (37% Female / 63% Male). We want to use this opportunity to optimize resources for female students in HKUST and empower them to reach self-actualization, as well as equip them with the skills needed to adapt to the real world.
OBJECTIVE 2
To introduce young, aspiring executives to leading professionals in a variety of industries.
Similar to many other business societies on campus, we want to help students unlock their talent and reach their highest potential in leadership. We want to introduce our members to leading professionals in a variety of industries that match their ambitions, values, and personalities. Having more female professionals as guidance can feel more personal to our female members as well.
OBJECTIVE 3
To close the gender gap in leadership.
We want to encourage more female students to pursue business success, and possibly balancing the ratio further. In the real world especially, there are still imbalances and discrimination to females all around the world. Our society aims to help our female students to equip themselves with the necessary skills and qualities to persevere and thrive in the real world while encouraging others to do the same.
